As you know for the past year and a half we have been fighting hard against fracking here in Anson Co. WHAT YOU CAN DO
1/ Educate yourself on fracking. A good starting place
is Clean Water for North Carolina. This organization has been in the forefront against fracking in NC. Their newsletter will help keep you informed about fracking in North Carolina. Sign up for their newsletter at CleanWaterGetInvolved.
2/ Join an organization working to prevent fracking from impacting NC residents. Go to List of organizations working against fracking.
3/ Form a group and host a community meeting or a GASLAND screening to raise awareness! Environmental justice starts when you and a few other people meet and talk
about the problems you have in common, problems that make it difficult to live and work in your community.
4/ Explore resources about fracking.
5/ Attend County Commissioner meetings.
(Check Calendar for upcoming meetings).
6/ Write a letter to the Editor of your local paper.
7/ Alert your friends and family; spread the word.
8/ Contact local authorities and volunteer to attend town meetings to make officials aware of this danger. Work to get a local resolution passed to ban fracking in your town.
9/ Help support our efforts. All donations are tax deductible.
10/ Sign our petition to ban fracking (link at right).
